Frequently Asked Questions

Do you guarantee that we will see wildlife?
While whale watching is one of this tour's main attractions, we will do our utmost to provide you with an unforgettable experience without compromising the welfare of the animals. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee close sightings of these majestic creatures. Some boat operators may be willing to risk the whales' well-being in order to give customers a closer look, but we will not do that. Instead, we prefer to wait for opportunities to whale watch without stressing the animals.
Does the boat have a restroom?
Yes, there is a restroom on board, as well as the opportunity to use the restroom before boarding the boat.
What happens if there's bad weather?
Our tours run rain or shine, so be sure to pack accordingly and bring a waterproof jacket even if the forecast doesn't call for rain, as Alaska's weather can be unpredictable. If our tour guides deem the conditions too dangerous for the trip, your reservation will be canceled and we will provide a refund.
What should I bring to this tour?
Rain is a common occurrence in the Sitka Sound area, so make sure to dress appropriately. Long pants, closed-toed shoes, and a waterproof jacket are highly recommended. It's also wise to bring extra layers in case of a sudden drop in temperature, as well as a bottle of water and your camera. Please note that space is limited, so try to pack light.
What kind of boat will we be on?
You will be aboard a 30-foot vessel offering comfort and stability to up to six passengers and additional crew. The boat features a drop bow, making it easy to board without getting wet, and there are two outdoor viewing areas and spacious seating inside. Enjoy the luxury of a smooth ride and the convenience of easy boarding with this state-of-the-art vessel.
