Description
The Orca Quest Cruise in Seward is one of the most exciting tours you can take on your trip to Alaska! This tour is dedicated to connecting you with orcas, one of Alaska's apex predators. Witnessing the sheer size and power of these incredible creatures against the stunning backdrop of Alaska’s southern fjords and inlets makes this a must-see adventure. Operating only from mid-May to mid-June during prime orca-viewing season in Seward, this tour is a unique opportunity you won't want to miss!
Begin your Orca Quest Cruise with pick-up at Seward’s Harbor 360 Hotel, then head to the marina to board your tour boat. Your naturalist guides will educate you about the local flora and fauna, with a special focus on orcas. With their distinctive dorsal fins, which can reach up to six feet tall, these majestic creatures are a sight to behold. Your captain will navigate to the best locations for orca sightings, ensuring a unique experience on each tour by following recent orca activity rather than a set route.
Throughout the journey, the guides and captain will share fascinating insights into the history of the area and the behavior of orcas, including their diet, social interactions, and their status as top predators in Alaska. If conditions allow, you’ll even have the chance to listen to orcas underwater using the boat's hydrophone. In addition to orcas, you may also spot other wildlife such as humpback whales, sea lions, and various seabirds.
As Seward’s only orca-focused tour, the Orca Quest Cruise offers an unparalleled opportunity to connect with these magnificent creatures. Book your spot today for an unforgettable Alaskan adventure!
