You've got questions, we've got answers
Q:Is there a restroom on board the boat?
Yes, there is a small restroom on board the boat and also an opportunity before leaving at Auke Bay Harbor. We certainly recommend using the facilities at Auke Bay before leaving as the onboard restrooms are quite small.
Q:What if our ship is delayed or doesn't make it into port? Refund?
It's very rare that a ship is delayed into port, but in those cases we will try our best to work with you to reschedule the tour to a later time. If that is not a possibility or your ship doesn't make it into port, we will refund you.
Q:What should we wear and bring?
This tour operates rain or shine, and rain is common as we lie in a temperate rainforest! For comfort, we typically recommend long paints, closed-toed shoes, and a waterproof jacket. Some guests choose to bring a small bag or backpack along to store extra layers, a bottle of water, and cameras.
Q:How do you know that we will see whales?
The captain and crew are out there everyday and understanding the whales' patterns and behavior is their job! Whales are creatures of habit like us and prefer certain feeding locations.
Q:How many people are on this tour?
There are a few different boats used for this tour. The enclosed jet boats seat up to 28 people and the larger catamarans can accommodate up to 49 people (if the tour is at full capacity).

Great day trip

We enjoyed our 4th of July trip in Juneau - the whale watching boat trip was excellent - enjoyed the scenery and we saw a lot of humpback whales - this is not the trip to see Orcas! Wish we could have gotten a little closer to the whales, but we appreciated the way the boat captains all worked together to not harass the whales - I could see that the crew definitely have a great respect for nature. The Glacier was awesome - we did the hike to Nugget Falls which we highly recommend. Took an hour round trip - easy hike and well worth the time to get closer to the glacier.

Whale Watching and Mendenhall Glacier

The glacier portion was great, because we were given our own time to go where we wanted.

The whale watching exceeded expectations. The crew took great care of us, and we were blessed with multiple breeches by the whales we saw.

Whale Watching & Mendenhall Glacier

Whale watching was super. Saw a baby calling for her mother, who did respond. Seals were what we saw the most of. I wish we had more time at the glacier. We were there for a very short time, didn't get to see the visitor center.
